# Romania's foreign minister has warned about rising populism and xenophobia in France today as Paris prepares to carry out the first of its planned flights home for dozens of Roma being expelled as part of a new crackdown. It's the first sign of diplomatic tensions between the two countries following the government's drive to expell foreign-born Roma living in France without a permit. Opinion polls reflect a high degree of public support for the measure - which has been sharply criticized by human rights groups.
