A wave of forest fires spreads through central Russia fuelled by strong winds and record temperatures

Parts of Russia are reeling under record high tempratures. Millions of hectares of crops have been destroyed and a series of forest fires have broken out nationwide. Hardest hit is the region of Voro-nezh, some 600 kilometers south of Moscow. Five people have been killed. Hundreds of others have been to be evacuated - including patients in several hospitals and children in summer camps.
