Small classes and hands-on learning — one school in Kenya has a fresh approach to educating children who have dyslexia.

Dyslexia is a neurodevelopmental condition that affects reading, writing, and spelling. It has nothing to do with intelligence or effort and cannot be cured with medicine. Yet children with dyslexia in Kenya often face punishment, bullying, and low expectations in classrooms not designed for the way they learn. Experts estimate that between 5 and 7 percent of learners in the country have dyslexic tendencies, though exact data is limited.
The Rare Gem Talent School in Kitengela use visual and hands-on teaching methods, including videos, flashcards, and practical exercises rather than rote instruction.
