He spent two years documenting the Iranian revolution, and his travels also took him to Northern Ireland, the Middle East, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Chile, Cuba, Mexico and South Africa, among other places. His work mainly focuses on political and religious conflicts.

For the first time, this film looks at the man who saw himself as a "historian of the present," and captures the last words of one of the most important photographers of our time. Abbas died in Paris in 2018.
