Abu Ghraib Comes To US Bases in Germany

Four of the seven US soldiers accused of torturing Iraqi prisoners at Abu Ghraib prison in Baghdad will be questioned at a pre-trial hearing in Mannheim, Germany, in late August, the US Army announced in the Iraqi capital Tuesday. Specialist Charles A. Graner will be among the soldiers investigated by a US military tribunal in Mannheim. Graner was photographed giving the thumbs-up sign behind a pile of naked prisoners. He has been accused of stomping on detainees' hands and feet and punching an inmate so hard the man lost consciousness.
