Afghanistan's jewels fuel war

Afghanistan is the world's biggest source of the deep blue gemstone lapis lazuli, which it has exported for generations. But nowadays, much of the profit from that trade goes to illegal armed groups. The government has tried to thwart this by banning trade of the semi-precious stone, but that seems to do more harm than good.
