The Campus Project for the 2025 Beethovenfest focuses on Nigeria and Afrobeat, South African artist William Kentridge uses his creativity to fight apartheid and colonialism, and in London, artsy globes are hand-made.

Campus Nigeria: Afrobeat and classical music at Beethovenfest 

The Bantu Band, the National Youth Orchestra of Germany, and Nigerian musicians make up The Beethovenfest Campus Project! The Challenge: Finding a new sound that combines afrobeat, classical music and folk during rehearsals in Lagos and Bonn!

 

The Globe Makers: Piecing the world together

In London, a studio is piecing the world together by creating hand-made globes. Some special requests can take years to complete, and borders and names can vary depending on the country. But these globes will definitely make you feel like traveling!

Magical shadows: South African artist William Kentridge

Postcolonialism, apartheid, social justice – William Kentridge deals with serious themes, yet his art remains playful. This unique creativity has made his drawings, animations and films famous around the world. And now the focus of two exhibitions.
