But first, we start with South Africa's infamous Ponte Tower. It's been dubbed Africa's first vertical slum. Now, social enterprise Dlala Nje is trying to change the perception of the infamous landmark in one of the most inspiring regeneration projects on the continent. 

Ghanaian photographer Samuel Awuku Darko began his career with just a cell phone. By photographing his humble surroundings, Samuel achieved that his sight on the world is exhibited internationally. His work shows that you can realize your dreams even with limited means.    

There is more Nigerian music than Burna Boy: Victoria Falana is a musician from Canada with roots that hail all the way to Nigeria. The singer incorporates soul, Afro beats and electronic music into her style, addressing topics such as identity, empowerment and, last but not least, social justice. 

Girl Skate Nairobi is not just a typical women's hangout, it's a community that advocates for the inclusion of women in skateboarding to raise awareness about gender equality and the lack of representation in the sport.
