View from the Nebelhorn The Allgäu is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Germany. Its attractions include scenic landscapes, a rich cultural heritage and a broad range of leisure activities that make it a favorite with families.

Visitors can go for a dip in the Großer Alpsee in Immenstadt, take a trip across the water in a historic merchant vessel against a picturesque mountainous backdrop. They can also go tobogganing on the 3-kilometer-long Alpsee-Coaster - even in summer.

Bad Hindelang isn't just a spa for taking healthy alpine air. It is also a good place to start a visit to the go to a nature conservation area in the Oberalp area of the Allgäu region. Guided walks offer the perfect opportunity to enjoy brilliant views and learn about golden eagles.

Oberstdorf is known as the central tourist town in the Oberallgäu. Germany's southernmost community attracts more than just mountain climbers heading for the Hindelanger via ferrata, a secured climbing route. When visibility is good, people who opt to take the cable car to the summit of the 2224 meter Nebelhorn can join them in enjoying the panoramic view over 400 mountain peaks.
