Amnesty International says 2009 was a year of missed opportunites for human rights

International Human Rights Day falls on December 10. It is a day to remember victims of oppression, torture and lawlessness. The United Nations has stressed the importance of remembering the concept of non-discrimination. But Amnesty International Germany has termed 2009 a "year of missed opportunities".
