Amnesty International says there has been a dramatic fall in the number of executions across the world. Michelle Lyons is the former spokeswoman for Texas' Department of Criminal Justice. Lyons witnessed almost 300 executions during her career. She describes what it's like to see an execution and why, despite misgivings, she remains in favour of the death penalty under certain circumstances.
