South Africa's sustainable energy sector

Its large mining operations make South Africa one of the most power-hungry economies in the world.

In sunny South Africa, independent producers of sustainable energy are filling the gap while an old batch of coal fired plants struggles to meet demand.But South Africa's state electricity utility Eskom recently has challenged their role in a move in a push for nuclear energy.
