Western leaders are praising an Arab League decision to Suspend Syria's membership as punishment for the Assad regime's continuing crackdown on pro-democratic dissent. The EU has pledged its full support for the decision and US president Barack Obama praised Arab "leadership." But Damascus has rejected the measure...and human rights groups say the crackdown has intensified in recent days.
