George Frederic Handel achieved the status of a superstar and his music was already regarded as classic during his own lifetime. He died in London on 14 April 1759 after living and working in England for over 40 years. It’s no wonder that the Baroque composer, who started life as Georg Friedrich Händel in Halle an der Saale, is regarded by the British as one of their own. London is staging a large festival in honor of George Frederic Handel and ARTS.21 went to experience a little of that Handel fever.
