He doesn't write what his publisher or agent tell him to.....he writes what he wants to. Andreas Steinhöfel knows how to communicate in a way that kids understand, and to address topics that they are interested in. Whether writing about 'Coming Out' or life in 'Patchwork Families', his goal is to be authentic, and at the same time entertaining. Steinhöfel is one of Germany’s leading contemporary authors of books for children and young people, and has just been recognized as such with the Erich Kästner Prize for Literature. ARTS.21 congratulates Andreas Steinhöfel and presents a portrait of this remarkable author.
