#The German government is to defend its decision to extend the life of the country's nuclear power stations in parliament today. That comes as the Bundestag debates the energy plan put forward by the centre right coalition. Opposition parties reject the proposal to keep the seventeen nuclear power plants on line for an average 12 years longer than was permitted under a law passed by a centre-left government a decade ago. There's been public protest too.
