Attacks on Iran trigger global Shiite protests

Shiites angered by the killing of Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei have been protesting around the world. At least nine people were killed when crowds stormed the US Consulate in Pakistan's port city of Karachi.

Deadly unrest erupted after US‑Israel strikes on Iran, with protesters in Karachi attempting to breach the US consulate, leaving several dead and dozens injured. Demonstrations spread across Pakistan, while crowds in India, Yemen, Iraq and Turkey mourned Iran's Supreme Leader and condemned US actions, highlighting growing regional tensions.
