Bangladesh - Stemming the flood

One result of climate change is an increase in the frequency of extreme weather. Bangladesh is home to the two largest rivers in South Asia. Although the land around them is fertile they can also flood and threaten the livelihoods of hundreds of thousands of local people. A pilot project in northern Bangladesh is helping to improve flood protection and guarantee locals an income during the rainy season.
