Berlin: one year after the Kunduz strikes the discussion over the exact number of victims and their compensation continues

#One year ago today, German-ordered airstrikes on two hi-jacked fuel tankers killed dozens of Afghan civilians near Kunduz. The incident shocked both the Afghan and the German public and became a turning point in how the German Bundeswehr's mission is perceived. The Kunduz strikes also changed the political debate: For the first time a German defence minister spoke of "war-like conditions" in Afghanistan. But one year on, the discussion over the exact number of victims and their compensation continues.
