Biathlete research -- the science of marksmanship

The biathlon is one of the most popular sports at the Winter Olympics. It's a curious discipline that alternates shooting skills with long stretches of heart-racing action on skis.

Missing the target leads to penalty rounds or added time, so excellent marksmanship is a must. But as the body grows more fatigued in the course of the event, trembling sets in. Can research help improve a biathlete's performance? We went to look at a high-tech facility at the University of Leipzig.
