Many people want to lose weight, but weight-loss drugs are still expensive and hard to get a hold of. New providers on the market could change that.

Weight-loss injections are gaining global traction as a tool to combat obesity — a condition affecting nearly 3 billion people and linked to over 200 diseases including diabetes, cancer and heart disease. One patient protrayed in this video has lost 35 pounds (16 kilograms) under medical supervision, but experts warn that long-term success still depends on lifestyle changes.

Pharmaceutical giants like Novo Nordisk and Eli Lilly dominate the market, while competitors are racing to develop new types of treatments. Despite high monthly costs and limited insurance coverage, demand continues to rise. Is this a medical breakthrough or a luxury product with hidden risks?
