Biochips instead of animal testing

Cell biologists at Jena University Hospital have developed a micro-fluidic chip that may replace animal testing. It behaves like a human liver, allowing researchers to test medications and to simulate sepsis and follow its progress in real time.

The biochip allows researchers to test medications, as well as simulate diseases like sepsis and follow their progress in real time.
