Whitney Houston's daughter dies aged 22
July 27, 2015
Brown had been found face down and unresponsive in a bathtub in her Atlanta home by her partner, Nick Gordon, and a friend on January 31.
Having suffered irreversible brain damage, she was moved by her family to hospice care on June 24, and died on Sunday.
"She is finally at peace in the arms of God," Brown's family said. "We want to thank again everyone for their tremendous amount of love and support during these last few months."
A civil lawsuit that was filed by the family last month accused Gordon of causing her life-threatening injuries. He was also accused of stealing from her bank account after the incident, while she was in a coma. No one has been charged in the case.
Houston herself was found face down in a bathtub in a Los Angeles hotel on February 11, 2012, on the eve of the Grammy awards.
Fans and celebrities sent messages of support to the family on Twitter.
"Rest In Heaven. You were loved, Bobbi Kristina Brown," tweeted actress and presenter Holly Robinson Peete. Another tweet came from chat show host Oprah Winfrey, who interviewed her after Houston's death.
Bobbi Kristina's father, Bobby Brown, an R&B star in his own right, separated from Houston in 2006 and divorced in 2007. Houston was awarded custody of her daughter at the time.
Bobbi Kristina had been pursuing a singing career of her own as well as appearing in reality television shows.
