La Paz is facing growing unrest as protests turn violent and road blockades cut off food and supplies. Demonstrators are demanding wage hikes and economic stability, deepening the crisis for new President Rodrigo Paz.

Protests in La Paz have escalated into violent clashes as police blocked demonstrators from reaching government buildings.

Miners have accused the government of selling natural resources and ruling by decree, and are demanding its resignation. Weeks of unrest have led to severe shortages of food and basic goods, with blocked roads driving prices sharply higher.

With inflation at 14%, Bolivia is facing its worst economic crisis in decades.
