Brazil: Austerity or Infrastructure Investment

Brazil's new finance minister has signalled his priority is to cut the deficit in any way possible.

But many economists say the country's infrastructure is crumbling and large-scale investment is urgently needed to kickstart the sputtering economy. That would also create jobs and local businesses would profit from a construction boom. They say austerity is the wrong direction to go.
