Where can you find blue-winged macaws, and how many iridescent emperor butterflies are there? Biodiversity monitoring in the Serra da Bodoquena national park is being carried out to answer those questions.

This is meant to be a pilot project for other nature reserves in Brazil. There are few places in the world where the number of different species is so great, but there are still scarcely any reliable data on the state of their populations.
