New Brazil coach
June 16, 2016Tite's club Corinthians broke the news that the coach would be leaving them for the Selecao late on Wednesday.
But Corinthians president Robert de Andrade was none-too-pleased about a deal he said was done behind his back.
"Tite deserves the national side for the work he has done and for the person he is," Andrade said. "The national side doesn't deserve Tite. The CBF doesn't deserve a person like Tite. They aren't used to dealing with ethical people."
Inside sources said one sticking point to Tite's appointment was his reluctance to coach the Brazilian Olympic team this August at the Summer Games in Rio de Janeiro. A compromise has been reached. Under-20 national coach Micale will coach Brazil's football team at the Olympics.
Tite was one of the names mooted for the position of national coach after Brazil's disappointing performance at there home World Cup in 2014, but Dunga got the nod.
With Corinthians, Tite won the Brazilian football league, the Copa Libertadores de America and the FIFA Club World Cup.
