Fishermen on the Shetland Islands have never come to terms with Britain joining the EU. To them, it marked the beginning of the end, with fisheries closing down and local fishermen losing their jobs due to the EU's strict fishing quotas. And they also don't see why they should have to repay almost 2 million euros in grants to the Shetland Islands Council as ordered by the European Commission following a ruling that the funds breached state aid rules.
