London and other English cities have seen widespread riots and looting following the shooting of a 29-year-old man by police in Tottenham, a deprived part of London and a crime flashpoint.

Shops and supermarkets were ransacked and police cars and buildings set on fire as rioters roamed the streets in search of booty.Police are now out in force and investigations into the Tottenham incident are in full swing.
