Romani nurse Daniela Zahova changes lives in Bulgaria by providing support and delivering care to disadvantaged communities. She proves that determination can overcome the barriers of discrimination and marginalization.

Every day, Daniela Zahova commutes between three Bulgarian towns to provide care for underprivileged children.  As a nurse and health mediator for the Roma community in Bulgaria, she bridges the gap between families and institutions, bringing trust, support and understanding to those who seem forgotten by society.

Herself a member of the Roma community, Daniela has built the life she once dreamed of.

Her story is proof of the fact that determination and perseverance can trump discrimination, and that success can be forged even under the toughest conditions.
