Stuttgart announced it was parting ways with Hannes Wolf on Sunday morning, the day after his side's 2-0 home defeat against second-place Schalke.

Bumpy return to top

- Stuttgart lie in 15th place in the Bundesliga, three points above 16th place Werder Bremen. The side in 16th place faces a relegation playoff at the end of each season to preserve its top-flight status.

- The Swabians have amassed only four points in their last eight league games, winning at home against Hertha Berlin and drawing away against Hannover.
