US Democrats have accused the local Department of Justice of removing at least 16 documents from the first batch of Epstein files, including a photograph showing Donald Trump, less than 24 hours after their release. Viewer discretion is advised.

The controversy surrounding the so-called Epstein files has only grown since the US Justice Department released the first batch on Friday.

The data dump sparked fierce criticism from both Democrats and Republicans due to the extensive redactions in many of the documents.

Less than 24 hours after publication, it was reported that at least 16 files had been removed from the DOJ's website, including one showing a photograph of Donald Trump.

The Justice Department is now facing allegations that it is shielding the US president and analysts warn that the limited disclosure could cost Trump votes in the US midterm elections.
