Cambodia's Leaders Face Corruption Allegations

06/02/09February 6, 2009

Environmental watchdog 'Global Witness' has published a new report criticizing Cambodia’s political elite for capturing all the country’s natural wealth. Cambodia has rich mineral, oil and gas reserves. Their exploration has only begun during the last five years approximately. But, 'Global Witness' says that Cambodia is missing the chance of lifting the country out of poverty and making it independent from foreign aid; instead, only a few well-connected people benefit from the boom.
