Are Gulf nations emerging as key mediators between Iran and the US? After threatening Iran and then abruptly pulling back, US President Donald Trump says Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE urged him to hold off on military strikes.

Gulf countries, including Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the UAE, urged the US to delay a planned strike on Iran, hoping diplomacy could prevent escalation, according to US President Donald Trump.
