Kenya's colorful minibuses are going electric, powering a green revolution. Plus: digital tools that make Berlin more livable, rescue drones powered by 6G, and a bus driver navigating gender bias on Bangkok's roads.

Across three continents, communities are adapting to some of today's biggest challenges. In Kenya, operators are powering a green revolution with electric matatus. These colorful minibuses are the backbone of commuter transport in and around the country.

Shifting to electric vans could greatly reduce emissions, and provide a lasting solution for mounting diesel shortages. But upfront costs are higher, and production is still small-scale. BasiGo is a pioneer in the sector as the first company to assemble electric vans in the country.

Also: citizens in Berlin are powering their own green revolution with community-led projects to reduce traffic, researchers explore the use of rescue drones for disaster relief, and a Thai bus driver speaks of the challenges she faces on Bangkok's roads.
