With US congressional elections weeks away, soaring diesel prices could sway voters. Trump proposes a Russia-Ukraine energy ceasefire and increased Russian diesel supplies. Can either lower prices before election day?

US diesel prices remain near historic highs, and US President Donald Trump says a new diesel supply deal with Russia could help ease pressure on consumers.

The agreement comes as Ukraine's attacks on Russian refineries and the Iran war continue to disrupt global fuel supplies.
