Bulgaria's political landscape is set for a major change: After a decade of conservative rule, voters have elected the center-left Progressive Bulgaria party led by former president Rumen Radev in a landslide.

Bulgaria's former president Rumen Radev has claimed a decisive election victory, with his Progressive Bulgaria coalition coming out well ahead of the established center-right GERB party. The vote follows months of youth-led protests over corruption and economic policy.

While many voters hope for reform and cleaner politics, questions remain over the country's future direction, as Radev has voiced eurosceptic and pro-Russian views while others urge closer ties with the EU.
