Local reception centers cannot accommodate the thousands of migrants still stranded in Ceuta, the Spanish exclave on the North African coast bordering Morocco.
DW reporter Jan-Philipp Scholz says many appear to have received little or no food or water from authorities or aid organizations.
Fear and anger remain high among residents. Many shops are closed, and some people are staying home over concerns about looting or violence. However, Scholz says he has neither witnessed such incidents nor seen any confirmed reports of them.
