The German Bundestag is continuing its debate on the 2010 budget today. Chancellor Angela Merkel has been addressing the chamber. She has been defending a draft budget put forward by Finance Minister Wolfgang Schäuble on Tuesday - that involves record levels of new debt. The budget foresees the new debt rising to nearly 86 Billion euros, or 4 percent of GDP.
