Chancellor Merkel will have to win opponents over before Friday's crunch vote on the rescue plan

German Finance minister Wolfgang Schäuble has just announced leading banks here have agreed to provide fresh loans to debt striken Greece. The opposition in particular is keen that financial institutions should also contribute to the Greek bailout package. On Monday Chancellor Angela Merkel's cabinet approved lending almost 22 and half Billion euros to Greece over the next three years. Politicians are are now hammering out details of the financial rescue package.
