Charlize Theron Injured in Berlin

September 1, 2004

Oscar winning actress Charlize Theron was injured during the making of a science fiction film in the German capital. Production of "Aeon Flux," an action movie by Peter Chung, has temporarily stopped to allow the 29-year-old South African star to recover, a spokeswoman said. "I can confirm that she has an injury due to a physically demanding role," said Jeanmarie Carrasco, spokeswoman for Paramount Pictures. "We have to go on hiatus to give her some time to rest," she said, adding that Theron had been doing a lot of her own stunts. The shooting of the film based on the animated science fiction television series on MTV is expected to be delayed for a few weeks. According to Paramount, Aeon Flux, is still scheduled for release in 2005.
