Chawa influencers criticized in Tanzania

In Tanzania, Chawa which means “louse” has become a slang term for artists, influencers, comedians and other high‑profile figures who parrot praise for the ruling party (CCM). Many citizens are fed up with the glowing praise from these public icons rings hollow when basic needs jobs, rights, dignity are ignored.
