Once a week, children attending a primary school in Mülheim receive a free breakfast. The initiative was started as many youngsters were coming to school hungry. In each of Germany's states, between 7 and 30 percent of children are considered poor. They often arrive at school wearing clothing that is unsuitable or simply not warm enough.
