Chile heads to a December runoff after Sunday's presidential vote left no clear winner. Leftist Jeannette Jara and far-right José Antonio Kast will now face off in a race dominated by concerns over crime and migration.

With neither candidate securing a majority, a runoff is set for December 14. In Sunday's first round, left-wing candidate Jeannette Jara won about 26.8% of the vote, while far-right contender José Antonio Kast followed with roughly 24%.

Chile's election reflects a deeply polarized electorate now focused less on social reform and more on rising crime, migration and security.
