China is allowing a delegation of western diplomats to travel to Tibet to assess for themselves the situation there following unrest in the Tibetan capital Lhasa. Their visit comes a day after an official journalists' tour of Lhasa was disrupted by Buddhist monks, protesting against Chinese rule. The organized tours to Tibet appear to be an attempt by the Chinese authorities to repair the country's image ahead of the summer olympics in Beijing. +++SYN-MAZ+++
