China's new five-year-plan is an economic blueprint for the country's long-term development. Analysts say it will likely set out ambitious targets for technological advances and high-end manufacturing.

China's new Five‑Year Plan for 2026–2030 aims to accelerate progress in robotics, advanced chips, AI, quantum tech and biomanufacturing while reducing reliance on Western technology. But Beijing faces slowing growth, a prolonged property crisis and US tariffs. As consumers pull back, China is leaning on exports and a record trade surplus to revive its economy and meet President Xi's modernization goals.
