China to Negotiate with Dalai Lama

April 25, 2008

China’s state news agency has announced that government officials are planning to hold talks with the representatives of the Dalai Lama. They reportedly are willing to discuss everything with the Dalai Lama’s envoys except sovereignty. However, the Dalai Lama’s representative to the EU, Kelsang Gyaltsen, told DW he didn’t know “when or where the talks would take place or what would be discussed”.
