China has imposed new travel restrictions it says are aimed at people who could endanger national security.

But DW East Asia Correspondent Rik Glauert and China law expert Thomas Kellogg tell Pablo Foley Elias that the new rules are actually targeting technology talent.

They say Beijing wants to prevent a brain drain, as it competes with the West for dominance in AI and other tech sectors.
