Medical students have organized a way to do internships abroad. About 300 Germans participate each year, taking part in four-week hospital clerkships in countries like South Africa, Iran, Ghana, Ruanda and Romania.

In return, about 350 medical students from abroad do clerkships in Germany. The foreign students are especially keen to find out more about Germany’s health system, and how doctors interact with patients here. We speak with a medical student from Jordan and one from Berlin about their experiences. Report by Cornelia Borrmann
