Corn, rapeseed or palm oil have been identified as alternative, environmentally-friendly, sustainable energy sources. Food is becoming more expensive as a result, as the agriculural industry tailors itself to the new demands of the market. But experts are warning that these production processes are not necessarily kinder to the environment. Germany has already said it wants to increase production of biofuels.
